Territory Creation
Build sales territories using countries, states, counties, 3- and 5-digit ZIP codes, census tracts, and city limits; use virtually any geographic area or combination of areas. Create territories by selecting just those geographic areas you want to include, or import your database of geographical assignments and let BusinessMAP 4.5 create the territories for you. Easily update your territories and print out new maps every time representatives or territories change. BusinessMAP 4.5 also allows you to resolve your territories, so that no two representatives are assigned to the same geographic region.
The software now contains a four-level hierarchical territory design that will allow you to build territories and group them into regions and areas. Quickly see which states make up an area, and what areas make up a region. Also new to BusinessMAP 4.5 is the spatial calculator, which helps you build relatively equivalent territories based on common geography and a single specific variable. For example, if you have an ideal threshold in mind (such as total number of households) you may use this tool to select a group of geographic areas until that threshold is met for each territory.
