Geographic Analysis Means Productivity
From production to distribution in the agricultural business, geography is an important factor. The competitive market in agriculture is pushing farmers to produce more from the same lands. To achieve this, farmers have begun using a process called precision agriculture where they must learn and respond to the variations within the geography of a field that affect crop productivity. Analyzing, studying and treating these variations is known as site-specific analysis which results in greater productivity. The agriculture business, or agribusiness, relies on locational geographic information for production, food processing, transportation and marketing.

ESRI: A Productivity Tool
ESRI provides mapping software to create the maps and tables that make precision agriculture and agribusiness easier and more productive. To implement the process of precision agriculture, farmers need to perform annual planning, data collection, and land and soil analysis. Using ESRI, the farmer can enter the data gained from sampling, crop scouting, and yield monitoring into a GIS (Geographic Information System) and combine it with the GPS (Global Positioning System ) location data. By combining the data and the geographic information, ESRI can then display the information in maps and tables. Information can be readily updated and changed in ESRI, enabling easy monitoring of growth and productivity. The maps created in ESRI are an excellent visual and hands-on aid in the management process of precision agriculture. Agribusiness benefits from ESRI maps and data available from GIS and GPS as well, using the maps to plot, predict, plan and monitor food production and consummation, transportation routes and marketing campaigns.

ESRI can also aid you in generating maps and reports that analyze and display your lending activity, so that you can be prepared for your examinations.
